Best (veg, gluten-free) Food + Coffee in London

I think I am ready for this blog to reverse five years and let it become what it once was years ago: a space to share my travel, food, and coffee experiences, plus wedding advice, sprinkled here and there. For me personally, I do not feel Instagram is the place to share…… It is currently too clouded by perfectionism and gaining the most “likes.”

When we travel to big cities like London, we usually opt for a hotel instead of an Airbnb because we plan to eat at restaurants for every meal. We stayed at the Ampersand Hotel in South Kensington and LOVED IT (it has a super cute interior, aka instagram worthy, and it is in an ideal location). The location was super close to many great restaurants with gluten-free, vegan options!! I will write about our favorite places we experienced…. I do not want to write negatively about other businesses, unless, maybe, if they are 20000% awful and need to be banned. But that will be the only exception.

I am vegan/vegetarian and gluten-free (the rules change on vacation though…) but my husband is paleo,
so we have to seek out restaurants that cater to us both.

1. Honest Burgers
GREAT vegetarian burger option with gluten free buns available too!
2. Rosa’s Thai Cafe
Really good thai food with vegetarian, gluten free options!
Its in the CUTEST areas of London!!!
3. The Bombay Brasserie
WE. LOVE. INDIAN. FOOD.
This place was a little too fancy for us, but it was good!
4. Leon
It is a popular fast food joint that is actually amazing.
There are few locations throughout London!
They have meat options, veg options, and gluten-free.
The best “fast food,” besides Chipotle, obviously.
5. Squirrel
Not our favorite but it was a great healthy option!
Salads, egg breakfasts, smoothies, green juices, kombucha, etc.
It was across the street from the Ampersand Hotel, so if we were in a bind,
this was a good option for us!

London is abundant with juice/smoothie bars, its EASY to eat healthy!!!
Also, sometimes it costs more to eat IN the restaurant than to “take-away.”

Best “third-wave” coffee shops:
1. Department of Coffee and Social Affairs
Loved the Macadamia nut latte!
2. The Espresso Room
3. Workshop Coffee

London coffee shops do not have a lot of seating space for customers.
Most are the size of a small bedroom haha.
